Listen to your life….

Life… the holy and hidden heart of it in the mountains of New Hampshire.

If I were called upon
to state
in a few words
the essence of everything
I was trying to say
it would be something
like this:

Listen to your life.
See if for the fathomless
mystery that it is.

In the boredom
and pain
 of it
no less than
in the
excitement
and gladness:

touch, taste, smell
your way to the
holy and hidden
heart of it
because
in the last analysis
all moments
 are key moments,
and
life itself
is a
grace.

  2. Jeanne, what a wonderful reminder as summer draws to a close, to sit back, relax and enjoy all that life has to offer.

I have taken the summer off and have been traveling non-stop since May. On the few weekends I have been home, we have had guests. So I have enjoyed all of the moments that life has to offer, the quiet walks on the beach watching the surf, the laughter and fun of family barbecues, road trips with my husband, and so much more.

I hope that you are doing the same! Your time with Connor and Claire must have been filled with lots of laughs and wonderful stories about school and their adventures while away this year.

As for the farm, I have been following along on Instagram and I LOVE all of your choices. Although I have never met Phyllis she seems like an interesting, kind, classy and wonderful friend and designer so I am sure that has added to the fun and excitement of decorating your new place.

I hope that you enjoy your weekend! Will you be out in your new kayak, or perhaps reading and relaxing in your homey rental. I can only imagine the fabulous books that you have read this summer!

    Have a great time!

    xo Elizabeth

P.S. I enjoyed your reunion post and by the way, you look fabulous!

I hope your chipmunk cheeks have gone down and you are feeling better.

  11. What a soulful image! Great shot of your hill and it does look like a mountain view. Your blog was a very pleasant read. I can just imagine you and the driver conversing for a couple of hours. That would be me in a similar situation. ;)
