Come sit with me...in Vietnam

Come sit with me...

I recently received a message from a friend asking me to consider eight women who have touched my life, eight women that I would like to sit at my table. She asked me to forward the following message along, which I did. I then started thinking, why stop at just eight when there are so many people, men and women, who have touched my life. So here it is, I count YOU as one who as touched my life. You are reading these words, that in itself is the greatest compliment one could receive and for that I am truly grateful.

You do not have to do anything with the following words but if you would like to share the love, by passing it along (photo too), please do!

For you...

I don't usually forward these things, but this one is special. Sit with me.

There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who created it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

I'm suppose to pick eight women who have touched my life and might participate. Please send this back to me. Remember to just read the quotation. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to eight women you would like to sit at your table and let me know what happens on the 4th day. Thank you!

Quote:

Today may there be
peace within.

May you trust
that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.

May you not forget
the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith
in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts
that you have received
and pass on the love
that has been given to you.

May you be content
with yourself
just the way you are.

Let this knowledge settle
into your bones,
and allow your soul
the freedom to sing,
dance, praise and love.

It is there for each
and every one of us.

Oh yes, the fourth day business...to be honest, I haven't a clue what happened on the fourth day. It is what has happened since I read this quote that mattered. I am writing to you...passing on the love. :)

Sending you warm wishes from Vietnam...

Jeanne xx

PS... I took the photo above this past weekend on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam...it made me think of you. :)

  1. Beautiful words.
Speaking true, blogging has been an experience that sifts people into an interesting mix by choice to show up as well as not show up. I read mainly art, design, food, crafts, travel and photography blogs. Overall, there is a marked absence of men posting that I'm sure live in homes decorated in white that love animals, can sew, and bake cake from scratch. The lack of diversity goes deeper, sadly. Life is what it is. I feel appreciating those who touch our lives in positive ways is important to our spiritual well being.
    Thank you for the invite
I'd order up a vodka sunrise and big bowl of fried veggies.

    1. Speaking true is always a good thing Maywyn and I love that you would put a big bowl of fried veggies with your vodka sunrise. You have me thinking....what would I bring to the table? When I sat at the table above I sipped on champagne. Saying that, chips and beer come to mind too. Ah..decisions! Wishing you a Happy New Year Maywyn!! :)

  5. Jeanne, that is a gorgeous photo. I could sit on that dock for hours - perhaps days - and enjoy that view. Thanks for inviting us.

It has been lovely to follow your travels thru Vietnam and i am half-sorry that they will end in 2015, but am so much enjoying your work at Tahilla Farm and cannot wait to see the finished product. Hope that 2015 will be a wonderful year for the H's and that Mr. H will love his relocation to New England. You have been a good blog friend and i can't wait to get started on the next adventure.

  8. Dear Jeanne
I wrote an earlier comment which doesn't seem to have been received. I read your post and I am sending you warmest wishes from a very sunny but frosty Norfolk where we are training a new puppy. She has just had her first ever walk and it is wonderful to watch the joy and delight with which she greets her new world. It reminds me to look at everything with the immediacy and anticipation of pleasure she has. I have so enjoyed your blog this year and thank you for the pleasure you give through it. I wish you and all yours peace and happiness for 2015 and I look forward to following more of your adventures. Thank you for sharing them.

  9. Thank you for passing on the love Jeanne. To be content with ourselves, just the way we are...is a blessing and pure joy. I will be passing this along. But first I want to sit with the words, alone, allowing them to soak further into my bones and spirit.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year!!

  12. Thank you for a beautiful blog that I have greatly enjoyed reading. This post and especially the quote/poem was the best one for where I am in life right now. On the surface, it seems simple to accept where and who we are at any given time, but sometimes it takes a real work of grace for that to happen. Peace definitely comes when we can let go of expectations.
Thanks and blessings to you from warm Florida,
    Paula

  13. Jeanne,

A beautiful request and a beautiful post! The photo is magical and the words to the poem seemed to speak directly to where I am at today. This year has been one of the most challenging for me, personally, professionally and spiritually. I am so looking forward to a new start and new adventures!

I hope Jeanne that 2015 brings you more happiness, adventures and more time with your family(altogether). I am looking forward to seeing the progress of your beautiful farm and of course following along on your travels, preparations for your sons wedding, your beautiful photography and so much more!

Have a fabulous day dear Jeanne! Thank you for always making my day brighter with your posts, comments and post cards! You are a special person and I am blessed to have found you in this fast land of blogging.
