The day has come...GIVEAWAY

Personal note card of 'Sempe Dancing in the Park' @ New Yorker
Artist: Jean-Jacques Sempé

I knew one day it would happen...I just wasn't sure when.
I picked up this card in a shop a few months ago...
thinking that someday...this is how I would feel.
I have been waiting....

so I am not prancing through a garden,
I am not soaking up sunshine and
thankfully, I am not wearing a red vest or that grey onesie
but I do own a pair of lime green garden gloves. :)

I do have a big smile...a giddy one...
One may wonder if I am losing my marbles,
I think my dog does.

If you are like me,
we know that... such is life.
Giddy, crazy, happy, delirious...
mad as a hatter in our own wonderland.
We wouldn't have it any other way.

Tip toe through life?
Couldn't if I tried.
How about you?

On that note....
I mustn't forget to remind you
about my little giveaway.

The Solar Queen is in the yellow dress that she wore
to the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last year.
She has a little solar panel on her purse allowing her
to wave proudly all day long. My Queen stands front and center
on my kitchen windowsill, giving me the royal wave as I wash along.

  1. Cute card ... glad your skipping down the steps again.

I have lime green garden gloves, too. (no surprise)

  2. What a lovely and uplifting post, made me smile inside and out, and I would be very happy to win any of your goodies on offer...
    Jo ♥♥♥

  3. Jeanne, I adore the card. Yes it on the first beautiful day of spring I want to skip down the garden path. Love anything New Yorker. Can't wait to hear who wins the give aways. Enjoy your week. Bonnie

  4. The "gray onesie" bit made me laugh out loud. Glad you are smiling. I for one am a bit fed up with the gray weather - I know I shouldn't complain since it didn't rain today but where was that sunshine I was promised! haha! Love your solar queen... :)

  5. I used to love getting the New Yorker when I lived in NYC. I didn't understand half of the articles but I just felt so so sophisticated having the laying about. In our first little house, I framed some of the covers and made a wall collage out of them. Good luck with everything coming up!! I can't imagine how you are going to do the move to Vietnam and then get one off to college in the U.S. She is going to have a wild couple of months. What fun!

  6. I am glad that your day has come. We all need that special day to come - when we feel giddy and ridiculously happy for no apparent reason. And that is the best reason of all.

  7. I am also so very glad to hear that your happy day has come! Enjoy every second of it!

    Best wishes,
    Natasha in Oz

  8. What a wonderful giveaway. And you gave me a smile, too. I love that card! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Jeanne, You are so generous! I love the color in the card. One look and you're happy!

  10. The solar queen made me smile. I've been hunched over the computer, trying to finish my WIP before we leave the end of June for Italy so have missed much. *hangs head* Hmmm, moving to Vietnam and getting one settled in college in the States. You've got a lot on your plate. But you're organized and there will be smiles all around.

  11. Jeanne - how are you? I feel the same way as the card too!. I rarely enter giveaways but I do love the solar queen. xoxo

  12. I am happy for you, what a blessing to feel this way!!

  17. Jeanne,
Love the photo, and happier still that it expresses your mood And please enter me in your giveaway. Years ago, I decided I was British in another life. (But that's another story).. There is however, a part of me that is absolutely smitten with the idea of tea time and delicious little cakes!

  18. Hello Jeanne

I love the green gloves. You must take them with you and sport them on St. Patrick's Day. If only the dog could talk (can you image what he is thinking and must be aware of the move- poor soul)

    Helen xx

  19. Hi again, Jeanne! What a happy image you brought us -- It's Spring! I'm Happy! "All's right with me and the world." Head back, big smile, arms wide open -- no need to even look where one's going, just the confidence and joy! All is all right!!

And thanks for the reminder: Another good thing about getting (a bit!) older is that one tip toes less!!! (At least I do!) Yay! We all want more of that sense of self the note card captures!

Warm Greetings to you! xo Nancy in Montclair NJ USA
