With Thanks.....

Birthday Wishes..
I have much to be thankful for but most of all
I want to give thanks for all the wonderful birthday wishes that came my way.
I can't tell you what a delight it was to hear the beep, beep, beep on my iphone
as the day progressed. I plan to visit one and all over the next few days,
but in the meantime, I want you to know that your kind words were sincerely appreciated.

To Russia with Love
Can I tell you a little secret?
If you need to drop a few subtle hints to loved ones, do what I do,
subscribe them to your blog.
I know Mr. H will be reading this post en route to Russia this evening--
so to him, I send a big hug for being such an astute reader.

For months I have been dropping hints, ever so subtly, from one blog to another.
He gets an A+++ for his comprehension skills. I will now be colourfully wrapped
in Brora (Be Still My Beating Heart, Retail Therapy)with a few books ( Recipe for Life)
to pass the Autumn afternoons and a movie or two
( A Kid at Heart) for our family movie nights.

A Happy Camper, I am, I am!

Friday..Saturday...Sunday..
A birthday weekend.
I find it is best to make it last as long as you can.
I have been in and out of London via Little Venice
and Primrose Hill and along a few country lanes in Ripley.
All new adventures for me.

Quiet time too this weekend...
all thanks to little surprises that appeared in the post...

From my good friend..Z...in Australia,
a few pocket size journals for my city excursions.

and from the delightful Lisa further south in New Zealand,
words of wisdom with a book,
'It's Never Too Late...
174 simple act to change your life'

P.S...to Lisa, I am now thinking about popping
a similar flag on the back of my bike! I know it will not go over well with
the kids...but as they say...'It's Never Too Late' :)

A Sunday Afternoon...
With that thought, my lovely daughter, Miss Claire and I took time
to pop our feet up and share a few Lindt Chocolate balls ( a gift from her)
whilst watching the an oldie but goodie...

A weekend of thanks and best wishes for a lovely week ahead to one and all!

  1. What a fabulous birthday weekend you're having! Beautiful friends and family, lovely gifts, and precious memories. Ahhh, Jeanne, perfect!

And I loved the sign in front of the Talbot Inn. Your history is so deep and rich and so well-preserved.

  3. I agree with the birthday weekend...we make it a week around here, sometimes, depending on the year. And this year for me was a birthday MONTH, so you can tell it was a VER big one!! Ha!
Your husband is sweet to read your blog, what a devoted guy, and how special you are to him and us blog readers! But I bet it makes him miss home less and feel a part of what is going on.
Love the sweters you posted, they look lucious. I got some from Ireland a few years ago like these and love getting them out. Will have to check out this site!!
    HB again...final one.

  5. Dear Jeanne,
I`d like to wish you a belated happy birthday and all the best wishes to you for your own personal "new" year! :)
I`m back from London since yesterday and I still got the pulsating city in my veins...need a little time to rest now.
I visited little venice too but it was raining cats and dogs when we just stepped out of the tube station. So it was a very wet adventure...
    Beate :)

  22. What a fabulous birthday Jeanne - well deserved for sure. Your hub sounds like one of those lovely dark horses; in a good way!

So I finally got round to watching Somethings Gotta Give - on your recommendation. THAT HOUSE! I was so distracted by the amazing beachhouse that I kept having to rewind to pick up the story! It was very good and refreshing and unusual. Keanu? YUM. But THAT HOUSE!! Made me want to start again with my house! Just adding a couple of metres to the ceiling before I started! I can see why that film is special to you - she reminded me of you...in my mind's eye, of what I know of you big sis! Anyway - thanks for the recommendation! Lou xx
