Morning Mist and Mr. Darcy
Is it so wrong to think of Mathew MacFadyen when on a family holiday???
Actually I was thinking that Mr. H is equally as handsome (with a distinguished twinge of grey)
but that does not take away from this being my favourite scene
in the more recent version of Pride and Prejudice.
This thought crossed my mind each morning last week
when I woke up to see the morning mist at our doorstep
in the English Lake District.
I waited...
Father, son and devoted dog...I'll take it!

Such lovely photographs Jeanne and how wonderful is Mr Darcy = heaven! And so is the photo of your Mr D and Dog too - brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I have developed quite a fondness for Matthew MacFadyen since watching him in Spooks. That morning mist scene is one of my favourites from this movie.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have suggested to Mr H that he runs around in the mist in a dressing gown and you could have recreated the whole experience! I'm off to look at your other photos now....I'm sure they're exquisite. Take care, Meredy xo.
I don't get much time to check my favourite blogs in the morning before work, but when I saw the words Mr Darcy, what was I to do...and I was not disappointed one little bit. Your photos are gorgeous, especially the one of your family. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, that was a marvelous scene wasn't it. So many scenes in that movie looked like paintings to me.
ReplyDeleteThose mist covered photos - divine! So lovely! You really captured the mood. Well done! (And I am sure you found husband, son and dog to be a lovely consolation in the absence of Mr. Darcy!) xoxo,Stephanie
ReplyDeleteThose trees are ethereal...scraggly and mighty defining the landscape...oh happy wandering!
ReplyDeleteAnd the handsome Mr.Darcy does add to the atmosphere!
A few weeks ago, I woke up at 6:30 am at went outside. I heard the birds chirping and looked at the dew-covered lawn. It was quiet and beautiful. The same thought you described came to my mind!! I thought of that very same part of the movie. What a great scene.
ReplyDeleteThese photos remind me so much of Yorkshire, early morning mist is so beautiful and ethereal.
ReplyDeleteAnd Mr Darcy emerging from the mists, sigh....
XX
i love that scene too! ;)
ReplyDeleteit is never wrong to think about Mr. Darcy...
ReplyDeleteReally gorgous photos -in more ways than one! :)
ReplyDeleteThere's a huge fog here this morning (I can't see to the end of the garden) - sadly I don't think Mr Darcy is lurking anywhere nearby but I'll take your advice and look. Leigh
ReplyDeleteColin Firth will always be Mr. Darcy to me, but I must admit that I have fallen in love with Matthew MacFadyen as well - love the scene in the mist. I think it's quite allright to think of him - all the time!
ReplyDeleteLucky for us there are two Mr. Darcy's to choose from. I still like both movies and regularly watch both :) There's always the lake scene too!
ReplyDeleteLovely....both Mr Darcy and your photographs...xv
ReplyDeleteWhat incredibly beautiful blog you have! My compliments!

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us these stunning photos Jeanne, love them all!!!
Beautiful photos Jeanne - isn't it wonderful to watch the sun gradually clearing away the mist to reveal the beauty of the landscape? Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time with your two Mr D's! x
ReplyDeleteJeanne I love your morning mist pictures, there is something magical about them. About Mr. Darcy, I´ll have to leave that for the ladies to comment but he looks perfect in your first photo. Congratulations!! Looking forward to coming back to your site.

Now that gave me a giggle! I love misty mornings too - although to be perfectly honest I could do with a sunny day around here for a change. Too many misty mornings in a row!
