Happy Anniversary, Jeanne!!! You both look so gorgeous! Doesn't time just make you happier and want to savor all the special memories?? Blessings for many more to come!!!
Congratulations - what a lot of bridesmaids!! I just left a comment on your Canaletto post but think I might have forgotten to do the verfication because it disappeared. Anyway, I was just saying how much I love those paintings and was blown away by seeing them real and there in front of me. I wasn't really a fan until I studied them close up. Now I'll pop in every time I'm passing for a quick look and soak up!
You are all so kind, I can tell you that Mr. H is walking on cloud nine at the moment after all these compliments and having Lou call him a 'hottie'... I will never hear the end of this one!!
Now to answer a few questions...
Julie and Hostess,
We were married along the seashore in the Cape Ann area of Massachusetts . The picture you see was outside of our local church. The architecture is quintessential New England in this area.
We had 300 guests...hence the large number of bridesmaids and groomsmen. I was asked if I still keep in touch with them all and I do! In fact, my first childhood friend was a bridesmaid. We met at 14 and are still going strong at 53. She introduced me to Mr. H too. I have a necklace which she gave me for my 50th birthday and I wear it everyday. The girls were lovely, they looked at that dress and just smiled....it was 1986 and I had a dream as we all do. They were all fantastic.
Grace Kelly, Katherine Hepburn, Jackie Onassis...a little bit of each went into my master wedding plan.
We married and left the next day for our new life in Australia.
Four kids, four countries and four blogs later...we just keep on going :))
As for our 25th...I am hoping someplace exotic (hint, hint to Mr. H) :)
Happy, happy anniversary. Twenty-four years is just terrific. There is nothing like a good marriage and having your dearest friend at your side. Do love your bridesmaids and the eighties styles! Very happy post!
