ReplyDeleteThis is one of my most favourite songs EVER, I probably listen to it most days :) And I have both of these versions of it on my iTunes, it's an instant pick me up isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI listened to both just now....Michael first and he does it so brilliantly, that song is perfect for him, great arrangement of it too. But I only have to hear the first few bars of Nina Simone singing and I would have to choose her version, there's a quality about her voice which is just incredible, it gives me chills.
Michael gets my "hotness" vote though ;)

I LOVE both versions Jeanne. The sad think is, I can remember listening to Nina Simone's version in my teens !!!! She was fantastic but so is Michael Buble.

ReplyDeleteEven while I listened to Michael Buble sing it(which he did quite well), in my head I was hearing Nina. She just owned that song back in the day, ya know? The horn sections in that song are some of my favorite ever - makes me want to dance. (and the orchestra that was playing with Michael Buble was sweet!) My cat feels otherwise. "Turn off that noise, ma!" Ears twitching and tale slapping.
