Memories of Paris...
I think I have hit the proverbial wall my friends.
This little puppy is done tuckered out and she is not a happy camper.
Am I using to many euphemisms? Than I must be unwell!
I always try to restrain myself to at least one or two in a normal post.
To add insult to injury...well, let's put it this way,
I NEVER watch TV during the day, especially on a weekday.
I think the last time I did was three years ago after major surgery.
Today...I can recount all TV shows playing for the past three hours
and the next twelve to come.
Am I getting giddy? I must...but before I go,
I have a few pics to share just because they cheered me up today.
I hope they do the same for you. :)
Blue skies over Paris on Saturday afternoon....a brilliant blue.
A little rear action from Auguste Rodin's, Le Penseur (The Thinker)
Next trip...I plan to go into the Musee Rodin to get up close and personal.
Just couldn't resist this one :)
Loving the clouds...why do they look so much better in Paris?
I can tell you, they do not look like that in London today!
Crossing a bridge...can anyone tell me which one?
Only because I do not remember :)
Saint-Germain des Pres
Window shopping in Paris...nothing better.
I think Robin Wright Penn is just stunning.
Feeding my bike addiction :)
Signing out...
to TV land and beyond.
:)

Tuckered out, or coming down with something Jeanne? Either way, here's my recco (for what it's worth)
ReplyDeletea cup of hot, sweet, strong tea
a warm bath
a foot massage (from whomever happens to be handy)
usually sorts me out.
Feel better soon.
They do to look like that in London Jeanne !!.....this, coming from a Londoner who thinks that London is the BEST city in the world and will not have it's clouds maligned !!!! haha. Sorry Jeanne....I'm biased !!
ReplyDeleteLove your photographs Jeanne. They are beautiful....the Eiffel Tower looks wonderful.
Hope that you feel a little brighter tomorrow Jeanne.....I have Midsomer Murders on while I type this !!I watch it sometimes as I love the villages and the houses are to die for...... so are their clouds !!!! hehehehehehehe. XXXX
Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are beautiful! Oh the one of the Eiffel Tower and the clouds! Hope you're soon feeling yourself, my friend.
ReplyDeleteJeanne, fabulous pictures, hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteXXX
The clouds over Paris are beautiful...they lie so low and scattered. Your pictures are fabulous, thank your for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel well soon. A bit of TV never hurt anyone!
XO,
Jane
Jeanne, from me as well - hope you're feeling better soon. Pictures are beautiful. I hardly watch TV now - I think it must that I would so much rather read all these great blog posts - much more therapeutic I think.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Jeanne - not surprised you are in need of some sofa time - just look at your recent itineraries!! You will be back to your usual sunny self in no time (and I agree with the recipe for recovery - tea, a lovely deep bath and a foot massage) - you'll feel like a new woman! Best wishes x
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, Jeanne. A few TV-days can be quite entertaining once in a while - especially in November weather. Beautiful pictures - makes me want to fly to Paris straight away:-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics that make me want to come over and join you!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Jeanne - not your normal spritely self. I loved your answers on my blog - yes of course we are still sisters!! Take it easy... Lou x
ReplyDeleteSometimes wall hitting is good Jeanne! You watch as much bad tv as is humanly possible while you get your zip back :) Thank you for the lovely photos. It's been a long time since I've been to Paris but I dream about going back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in everyone..I am feeling better already. You have written and the meds are starting to work :)
ReplyDeleteI am starting to feel a little spring in my step as the evening wears on. Today I managed 'Julia' with Vanessa Redgrave and Jane Fonda. This was my first occasion to watch it and I enjoyed it. I then went on to see Emma Thompson in 'Howards End' and 'Last Chance Harvey'. I managed to teach myself all sorts of things on the TV remote and am duly impressed by the selection offered on SKY TV-UK
I managed to get thru half a tissue box over Marley and Me and watched a cooking show on how to make a jam preserve roll over at www.rivercottage.net
Now I am thinking about Jacqueline's idea for that hot, sweet strong tea, a warm bath and a foot massage. Chamomile here I come!
Feel better soon! It's been a little like that over here this week, a head cold & a sore back, perhaps I'll resighn myself to the couch & the tele too...I LOVE that pink bike, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jeanne! So pleased you've returned. Thanks for sharing that loveliness with us. Hmm, did you tweak those photos? The colours are lovely. I hope you're feeling a bit more chipper now. Sending you a Hobart ♥ J x
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne
ReplyDeleteWell I can understand the hitting the wall.. perhaps it's just post travel angst!!! That gets me every time [even though for me it's been ages]
Your photos are as beautiful as ever and certainly don't look wall hitting to me!! hehe.. Have a lovely week.. ciao xxx Julie
Jeanne hope you feel yourself soon.. but relax and take time to do things you don't normally indulge in - like daytime TV - why not? XX
ReplyDeletephotos are beautiful, Paris is beautiful and London too :) My father lives in Paris and I'll be moving in London in a couple of months, so I love them both . hope you will feel better, best regards, Maria
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are stunning! I'm loving the gorgeous clouds too! Enjoy the beautiful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteDear Jeanne,
ReplyDeleteseeing paris or any part of the world through your eyes is always a pleasure...and whereever you might go...the clouds should show their best sides to you! :)
I send you a lot of healthy energy and hope you`re feeling better soon!!!
Nothing is better than tv, a warm and cozy sofa, vitamin-C-bombs, litres of tea and soft tissues for the soul and the nose...
All the best to you, Beate :) XXX
paris always cheers me up, so this post is just my cup of tea. walls are ok and so is day time tv, everything has its time and place!!indulge, down time is such a necessity! jxxx
ReplyDeleteWe DO have the same photo don't we, how funny!!!
ReplyDeleteWe left London on the 9am Eurostar Saturday morning and caught the 7pm back on Monday evening. Wasn't the weather wonderful - I had seen the forecast was rain all week so arrived with hats, scarfs, umbrella, the lot - none of which we needed. Those blue skies were a real tonic!!
We bought a two day pass for the hop on/hop off Open Tour buses - we did the Grand Tour and also took it up to Montmartre and on Monday we used it as a taxi really, just jumping off where we liked...perfect with the children - and my husband who doesn't like walking as much as me LOL!!
I did find it a very relaxing way to see Paris actually, you can really appreciate the size of the city and you get a different view of the buildings etc.
Did you stop at Cafe de Flore? The hot chocolate there was A-MAZ-ING....served in small jugs and just delicious!!
The week-end was the perfect length actually....and it was lovely having Monday there as everything was noticeably quieter....Sunday was so busy everywhere, full of tourists ;)
I hope that your daughter loved her visit there....and I hope that you are starting to feel much better.
We have had colds the last few weeks and actually my daughter still has one, ugh!
Take care xx
PS Your photos of The Thinker is much better than mine! My children know "The Thinker" from The Night at the Museum where he plays a character - they loved seeing him in Paris :)
Thank you for becoming a member of my blog! it's nice to meet you :) a bientot
ReplyDeleteJeanne, you are truly a gifted photographer!! Each and every still comes to life under your direction.
ReplyDeleteOh beautiful Paris, how I long to stroll down your boulevards and nibble on your macaroons!
ReplyDeleteHopefully....you are not TOO unwell, Jeanne....I have been to all those spots you shared with us today....oh what memories you have shared in my soul!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGet well and feel better soon.

Hi Simone
ReplyDeleteIt is so great that your kids are benefiting from all your travels. What great parents you are for bringing them along. Experiences like that last a lifetime!
I admit The Thinker photo was tweaked a bit. The downside to taking photos in full sun is they can get a bit washed out. One of these days I will take a photography lesson to figure out how my camera actually works...I am still in auto mode. If you have a photo editing tool, you can up the saturation and it evens out the photo with stronger, richer colours.
The blue skies in my Eiffel Tower shot is as is...I was amazed by that shot. Looks like we clicked the button at the same time too.
We did not have time to stop at the Cafe de Flore but managed hot chocolate with breakfast at Angelina's on the rue de Rivoli. We stayed next door which was an added bonus.
My daughter loved Paris..or at least the looks of the boys around Paris. I am hoping this will give her the added boost to lift up her French grades. She came home on cloud nine so I would say things are looking pretty promising in that department.
Now...if I could only get back to Paris on my own, just imagine!
Hope your daughter feels well soon. It is a nice afternoon for a little TLC.
B-well xx
