Love Is All Around
It was a tough choice this morning.
Do I lead with the photo to Colin Firth winning the BAFTA award
for his role in The King's Speech last night or a valentine's card?
Actually...it wasn't a touch choice :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

For those of you who have joined in on the fun for my surprise giveaway...
I thank you! Great comments...great insight. I can't wait for Friday!
There is still time to join in for those of you who would like too.. here.
Weekend Doings...
I went along to see True Grit yesterday and enjoyed the performances
by Hailee Steinfeld, Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges. There is no doubting that Mattie Ross
has true grit in this role. She is one feisty and clever little girl.

Have you seen it? What did you think?
I am still working my way thru the films nominated for an Oscar.
So far I have seen: The King's Speech, True Grit,
The Kid's Are All Right and Toy Story 3,
Still to go: Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, 127 Hours,
The Social Network and Winter's Bone
Is it me or are there more movies than usual in this category?
Not sure how I am going to fit it all in...blogging time
may have to be sacrificed..another tough choice :)
Here a butterfly, there a butterfly...
Mr. H and I took a little time out to ourselves. He watched as
I chased a few butterflies around the Butterflies in the Glass House
exhibit at Wisley Gardens. We took a stroll thru the gardens
and then went out to lunch. Just the two of us...
can't tell you how long it has been since we did that!
Whether you look up or look down, there is no doubt that
Spring is on it's way :)
Hooley Dooley...I just realised,
I hit my 500th post today!
Only appropriate that Colin starts off this one :)
Best wishes to all for a love filled day!
Two words re your first picture - Ding Dong!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Suzanne...my sentiments exactly!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you have seen so many of the nominated movies...there are more this year...they have added them for one reason or another.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Your pictures are beautiful!
Have a great week, Jeanne!
XO,
Jane
Happy Valentine's Day. I've still got a couple of those films to see yet as well. I missed True Grit the 1st time around. I saw the original. (Would you believe I was only 3 mon old? No I didn't think so.)
ReplyDeleteJeanne, We watched the original True Grit on tv the same weekend we went to the theater and saw the new one. Both quite good, though I enjoyed the ending of the original better. Your butterfly excursion looked like fun and what a sweet date with your husband. Have a wonderful week and Happy Valentine's Day ♥ ~Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteJanet...I will have to watch the original True Grit too. I agree, the ending in this version wasn't the greatest.
ReplyDeleteLove that little Mattie though :)
Sandy...not sure I want to even think how old I was when the original came out..just checked..I was 12 yrs old, the original with John Wayne came out in 1969 :) oh dear....
Thank you Jane :)
Happy Valentine's Day and Colin is looking ever so handsome!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 500 milestone!
Your trip to the gardens looks like a fun date with your husband, and the weather looked like it was perfect.
Thanks Leslie...thinking Mr. H today and Colin Firth, what a day!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's day Jeanne. Congratulations too on your 500th blog. x
ReplyDeleteQuite dashing that Colin Firth!
ReplyDeleteHurray for Colin and so glad you enjoyed your honey in the garden :)
ReplyDeleteYikes I have not even seen one of those movies yet. I think I will start off with The King's Speech. Anything to do with royalty always interests me. BTW, Colin was a perfect choice.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen True Grit yet...just the original. And that was a BAD memory...my first "college" date, and it was AWFUL! Now...if Colin Firth had been my date....
ReplyDeleteJane (artfully graced)
ps Inception is very interesting...
Yes, you made the right decision....Colin Firth should always come first. Lovely photography! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI do love Colin Firth, I must go see the kings speech. Happy valentines to you too!
ReplyDeleteColin Firth is like the little black dress of blogging - always appropriate!:-D So glad he won.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day, Jeanne.
Now I'm off to bed - and tomorrow I'm off to London. Looking forward to warmer weather - it is freezing cold here!
What a wonderful day...having lunch with your husband...just quiet time alone is marvelous! The butterfly pics are gorgeous! Loved seeing True Grit too. It will be interesting to see what mins at the Oscars...my bet is the King's Speech. I haven't seen many of the others...don't need to.
ReplyDeleteColin Firth has nothing on you, Jeanne. 500 posts - wow. I bet he has never written a single post.
ReplyDeleteCongrats.
Fondly,
Glenda
Isn't Colin dreamy? It's exciting to see him receiving so much recognition. Hope he wins the Oscar as well. Loved True Grit, but never saw the original.
ReplyDeleteJeanne - quite the perfect way to start a post. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have heard True Grit heralds a new era in heroines for girls (of all ages). Looking forward to seeing it.
500 posts! Just astounding, Jeanne. And not to forget your 4 other blogs, either ☺. I love that heart photo - where did you find it? J x
ReplyDeleteHi Jane...the heart is from a card I bought on a street corner in Paris... :)
ReplyDelete500 posts and all around general fabulousness! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteJeanne, you lead the best life. You do.
ReplyDeleteI really loved The King's Speech. Black Swan was good too but left me a bit - ahem - disturbed for a few days.
ReplyDeleteLate but better than never; Dear Friend, Happy Valentine's to you and yours!
